Overview
Habitville is built to respect your data. You can remove what you've created at any time, all the way up to permanently deleting your account. This page explains your options and what happens behind the scenes. For the full picture of how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.
What data we hold
The personal data tied to your Habitville account typically includes:
- Account identifier: the sign-in method you use, such as your “Sign in with Apple” relay address.
- Your habit data: habits, check-ins, streaks, coins, and the village you've built.
- Subscription status: whether you have Habitville Plus (billing itself is held by Apple).
- Diagnostics: limited, privacy-respecting usage and crash data, where you've allowed it.
Delete individual habits
Want to remove just one habit, not everything? You can do that anytime without affecting the rest of your village.
In the app
- Open the habit you want to remove.
- Open its settings or edit screen.
- Choose Delete habit and confirm.
Delete your account
Deleting your account removes your personal data and habit history from Habitville. This is permanent and can't be undone.
In the app
- Go to Settings.
- Open Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and associated data are scheduled for deletion.
If you subscribed to Plus, remember to cancel the subscription separately in your Apple ID settings, since billing is managed by Apple and isn't cancelled automatically when you delete your account.
Request deletion by email
Can't access the app, or prefer we handle it? Email hello@habitville.co from the address linked to your account (or tell us how to identify it) and ask us to delete your data. We'll confirm once it's done.
What happens when you delete
- Your habits, check-ins, streaks, coins, and village are removed from active systems.
- Your account identifier is deleted or anonymized.
- Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our regular backup-rotation cycle.
- Deletion is permanent. We can't restore data once it's gone.
Export your data
Want a copy before you go, or just for your records? You have the right to a copy of your personal data. Email hello@habitville.co and we'll provide an export in a portable, machine-readable format within the timeframe required by law.
Retention exceptions
After deletion we may retain a limited amount of information where we're legally required to, for example records needed for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or security purposes. We keep only what's necessary, for only as long as necessary, and then remove it.
