Your habits are personal. This page explains, in plain language, what Habitville collects, why, and the control you have over it.

Overview

Habitville (“Habitville”, “we”, “us”) makes a gentle, gamified habit tracker for iPhone. We built it to help you show up for yourself, not to harvest your data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Habitville app and the habitville.co website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using Habitville, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Information we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Here's what we actually gather:

Information you give us

  • Account information. If you create an account, we store the identifier you sign in with (for example, your Apple ID “Sign in with Apple” relay email or a username).
  • Your habit data. The habits you create, your check-ins, streaks, coins, and the village you build. This is the core content that makes the app work and is tied to your account.
  • Messages you send us. If you email support or fill in a form, we keep what you send so we can help and follow up.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & technical data. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, and time zone, used to run the app correctly and fix bugs.
  • Usage & diagnostics. Aggregated, privacy-respecting analytics about how features are used and crash reports, so we can improve the app. Where required, this is only collected with your consent.

Purchases

  • Subscription status. If you upgrade to Plus, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your full card details. We only receive the receipt/entitlement needed to unlock Plus features.

How we use it

We use the information above to:

  • Provide the core service: saving your habits, streaks, coins, and village across sessions and devices.
  • Sync your data if you use an account or iCloud-backed storage.
  • Process and maintain your Plus subscription.
  • Respond to your support requests.
  • Diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and keep the app secure.
  • Understand which features help people build habits, so we can make Habitville better.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use your habit data to serve you third-party ads.

How it's shared

We share data only with the service providers that make the app run, and only as needed:

  • Apple. App distribution, “Sign in with Apple”, in-app purchases, and (if enabled) iCloud storage.
  • Hosting & infrastructure. Cloud providers that store and sync your data securely on our behalf.
  • Analytics & crash reporting. Providers that help us measure usage and fix crashes, under agreements that limit them to processing data for us.
  • Legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and Habitville.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Data retention

We keep your account and habit data for as long as your account is active so the app works as you'd expect. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct data that's inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your data (see Deleting your data).
  • Export a copy of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent for analytics.

To exercise any of these, email us at hello@habitville.co and we'll respond within the timeframe the law requires.

Deleting your data

You're always in control. You can delete individual habits inside the app at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, use the delete option in the app's settings, or email hello@habitville.co and we'll take care of it. Deletion is permanent and can't be undone.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe and to address issues quickly if they arise.

Children's privacy

Habitville isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

International transfers

We may process and store your information on servers located in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we use appropriate safeguards to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Habitville evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Habitville after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
