Habits & streaks

Why did my streak reset?

A reset is normal, and it never erases anything. Here's why it happens and what it means for your village.

Short version — A streak counts the days in a row you complete a habit, and it resets when a day passes without that habit marked done. A reset is normal — and it doesn't erase anything. Your history and your whole village stay exactly as they are.

Habitville is built to be guilt-free, so a broken streak isn't a punishment. It's just the counter starting fresh.

The usual reasons

  • A day was missed. The most common cause — the habit wasn't completed before the day ended.
  • Midnight rollover. Your day resets at midnight in your phone's timezone. Checking a habit off just after midnight counts toward the new day, so a very late completion can miss the day before.
  • You travelled across timezones. The day cutoff follows your device, so crossing timezones can shift when a day starts and ends.
  • Your phone's date or time was off, or was changed manually.

Common questions

I completed it but my streak still reset.

First check the midnight rollover above. Also, if you marked it done while offline, it needs to sync once you're back online — open the app with a connection so the completion is saved.

Can I get my streak back?

There's no manual streak restore — but a reset costs you nothing you've actually built. Every habit you've completed, and every part of your village, stays.

Does breaking a streak hurt my village?

No. Your village is permanent. A reset only affects the streak counter.
